I wanted to share with everyone why Holly and I decided to take over Memory Pole Magnet Small Business.
I had met Jeff about 10 years ago at a small craft show, when both of us were just starting out. It was a slower show so as vendors we had time to talk to each other. I hit it off instantly with Jeff and his wife Mary. From then on they were stuck with me. I have always enjoyed his work. A few years ago he switched from Book cutting to Magnet making. I absolutely loved his idea. Handmade wooden magnets stuck on a metal pole to tell a story about individual places, people, things that make up memories of time past.
Now fast forward to 2025
As I had posted about last year, my Dad passed away unexpectedly in May. In August I asked my mom to make me a list of 10 or 15 places or things that were special to her and my dad over their 45 years of marriage.
I got with Jeff and asked him to make a Memory Pole with those 15 or so things printed out on magnets.
Among the magnets were favorite vacation spots, the city they grew up in, the music they enjoyed together, their first date, where they got married, the street signs of where they have lived together, a picture of the two of them together. My favorite, a red heart with "Love Always, Mike" in his hand writing to top it off. Red, because he always said the color red brings out his eyes.
Jeff had made each magnet perfectly, it was exactly how I had envisioned it.
We wrapped each magnet individually so Mom would see each and every piece individually and at the end piece together to make a story about their lives together.
Watching each magnet be unwrapped was like reliving Mom and Dad's memories in real time. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. I knew at that moment that these little magnets and the Pole that they stuck to were more than just wood and metal. They were a reminder of the good times, the shared experiences and the love between two people.
Jeff had shared with Holly and I that they were retiring and moving down to Floridia. We knew we wanted to keep this business going to hopefully share with others. We worked it out and in February of 2026 became the proud new owners and creators of Magnetic Memories .
We hope to share the thousands of magnets that have been made of places, sports teams, local landmarks and so much more. We also look forward to making custom magnets meaningful to you and your people. Whether it is an Individual magnet or a bunch of them to display on a pole.
We hope you will enjoy our new venture as much as we have. It's only the begining, we have so many great ideas to share with you all.
Happy 70th Birthday Dad!
I know you would be proud.
