Get Ready To See A LOT More Butterflies! 🦋

Our yards and gardens will be rest stops for migrating monarchs across Ohio.

Some of the butterflies passing through will travel more than 1,000 miles, eventually reaching their winter home in the mountains of central Mexico.

They’ll need plenty of fuel along the way. Late-blooming flowers can be especially important as monarchs stop to feed before continuing their journey south.

And just like all those migrating birds we talked about yesterday, weather matters! Sunshine, temperature and favorable winds can help create days when it suddenly seems like monarchs are everywhere.
