At The Well, inclusivity becomes part of the story.

Inspired by the aerial tapestry of Hilliard’s farm fields, the integrated screens weave movement, light, and information into a layered visual experience. These designs connect people to place in a way that feels both modern and rooted.

We’re proud to celebrate the grand opening of the South Lake Tahoe Recreation & Aquatics Center, a major new investment in community wellness and connection.

Opened on April 18, the 64,000-square-foot, multigenerational facility brings together fitness, aquatics, and community spaces designed for all ages and abilities. Designed with a central gathering place as it’s hub, with views of the pines and sparkling Lake Tahoe, the amenities include a 6-lane lap pool, 2,500 SF activity pool with party room, two-court gymnasium for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball, fitness and weight areas, group exercise studio, arts and crafts spaces, and senior programming. A second-level event center with a deck overlooking Lake Tahoe provides a special venue for community gatherings.

From the opening ceremony to tours and community celebrations, the day marked the start of a vibrant new hub for residents and visitors alike. We’re honored to have partnered with the City of South Lake Tahoe alongside , CORE Construction, and the broader consultant team to bring this vision to life—a place rooted in the heart of its people that celebrates place and the spirit of Lake Tahoe.

The luck of Fitzmorris! 🍀

It’s a good day as any to highlight a fun neighborhood center in Arvada called Apex Fitzmorris Recreation Center. Opening in 2018, Fitzmorris incorporates an open fitness and weights space, two multipurpose rooms, and support spaces into its 9,000 square feet. A multipurpose gem, its flexible spaces can host a Rock Steady boxing class, spin class, yoga, senior chair fitness, and even compression therapy. With a connection to an outdoor pool and large park this center does a lot of heavy lifting for the quaint Arvada neighborhood it sits in.

A major milestone was reached this week for the future Pflugerville Recreation Center in Pflugerville as the project team gathered to celebrate the building’s topping out ceremony—marking the completion of the structure’s highest point.

Members of the design team, including Craig Bouck, Melissa King, and Tyler Ellis, joined City leaders, Parks & Recreation staff, subcontractors, and partners from FGM Architects to celebrate the moment. The event included a tour of the rapidly progressing facility, where a site that was foundations just months ago is now a fully framed building.

Traditionally, topping out ceremonies include signing the final steel beam placed at the building’s highest point. Because the recreation center features exposed glulam structure and cross-laminated timber (CLT) rather than steel, the team signed the CLT deck and a ceremonial tree placed atop the building until the roof is installed—a nod to historic building traditions meant to bring good fortune to the project.

When complete, the new recreation center will serve as a multi-generational hub in Pflugerville’s emerging downtown district, extending the city’s historic Main Street eastward alongside the new City Hall. Inspired by Pflugerville’s identity as the Trail Capital of Texas, the facility will blend indoor and outdoor recreation with amenities including a gymnasium, natatorium, indoor turf training space, adventure track, fitness areas, classrooms, event spaces, and integrated retail.

It’s exciting to see the vision taking shape and to celebrate the many partners helping bring this vibrant community destination to life.

We’re proud to celebrate the grand reopening of Reecy Davis Sr. Recreation Center in Greenville, Texas.

After a year and a half of renovations and expansion, city officials, invited guests, and community members gathered to mark this important milestone. Funded by Greenville’s voter-approved bond program, the project added 13,700 square feet to the existing 18,000-square-foot facility and delivered meaningful upgrades, including new gym flooring, updated restrooms, improved lighting and plumbing, and expanded program space. The revitalized center now features an additional gym, weight room, teen lounge, aerobics room, game room, and flexible multi-purpose room.

Named in honor of Greenville native Reecy Davis Sr., a professional heavyweight boxer known for his strength, discipline, and community pride, the center carries forward a legacy rooted in perseverance and local identity.

This reopening marks the first phase of a broader investment in Greenville’s recreational future. Through the same 2023 bond program, the City is also delivering the new Greenville SportsPark recreation center (Which was designed in tandem with this center by BRS). Working on both facilities concurrently has allowed for shared planning strategies, operational efficiencies, and cost savings, maximizing the community’s investment while creating complementary destinations for residents.

Congratulations to the City of Greenville on this exciting new chapter.

Our 50TH YEAR was one for the books! Take a look back with a few messages from our phone guest book…

We were busy finishing up six projects that opened this year: PenMet Parks Recreation Center, Tumbleweed Recreation Center, Cosumnes’ CORE, Silver City Recreation Center, The Well in Hilliard and the Sea Lion Exhibit at the Denver Zoo.

We were able to have a 50th anniversary party, an office retreat, holiday lunch and many cultural events in between. It was rewarding to look back and take time to celebrate. The icing on the cake was our honor from AIA Colorado as Firm of The Year. And now we look ahead to what’s next in 2026 and beyond.

Happy New Year!

PenMet Parks Recreation Center has officially achieved LEED Silver certification! 🌿

Designed to bring the Gig Harbor community together while respecting the environment, the project integrates green thinking inside and out:
☀️ Photovoltaic panels on the roof generate renewable energy.
🧪 Reduced use of products with chemicals of concern to support healthier environments for visitors, staff, and the community.
🚴‍♀️ The Cushman Trail extension now connects all the way to the Narrows Bridge, inviting residents to bike, walk, or jog through Gig Harbor’s scenic landscape.
🌳 Multiple green spaces: An event lawn and a restored mini golf course create new outdoor destinations for play and gathering.
🏡 Adaptive reuse of the former golf clubhouse transforms the existing structure into PenMet Parks’ new administration building, giving the site a sustainable second life.

Congratulations to PenMet Parks and the entire team for creating a model of community-centered, environmentally responsible design!
