The Door Was 2 1/8 Inches Thick. The Hardware Was Not. 🔐

Standard residential doors run between 1 3/8 and 1 7/8 inches thick. Lock hardware is built around those dimensions. This door was 2 1/8 inches wide, which meant every standard lock the customer tried was simply the wrong product for the door they were working on.

They did not know that. They tried to make it fit anyway. The bore hole got enlarged, the door face got damaged, and we got the call.
