Hard to believe there are only 3 markets left for us, and the season is coming to an end. It feels like it flew by. Lately I’ve found myself trying to hold on to summer just a little bit longer (even though it’s already over 🤷🏻‍♀️) instead of embracing fall like I usually do, because this season was just…really hard. It wasn’t what I hoped for, because of many factors, but mostly because of the weather. We had cold and wet, very hot and dry, and then really wet, and none of it was good for any of the flowers. But that’s farming right? Some years are really good, and some just aren’t. But when it’s a hard year it’s really, really hard to compete with people who have greenhouses, tunnels, or just buy bouquets from flower auctions and resell them. Next year will look a little different, I’m not doing tulips, and I won’t be attempting late spring markets, so I won’t be there until mid summer-fall. At least that’s the plan right now, it’s subject to change 😆 that also means flower subscription options will change a little bit as well, so keep an eye out for that! Come see us these last 3 weeks at market 🫶🏻 (this armload of dahlias picture is from last year)
