The history of the jewelry Christmas tree-
During World War II, manufacturing restrictions severely limited jewelry production. Metals like copper, brass, and rhodium were rationed for the military, and rhinestone imports from Europe ground to a halt.
People didn’t have money for holiday decorations so they took old pieces of jewelry, mismatched earrings and broken pieces to create beautiful jewel trees.
I’ve always felt so guilty tossing these same pieces so I kept them for years in my jewelry box. Then I started seeing so many at thrift stores, estate sales and more. I started grabbing the grab bags and sorting them for this very purpose.
Mine is the first one. I’m leaving room to add special pieces I may find along the way.
I wanted others to be able to start their own heirloom, maybe invite friends and family over and have a jewel tree making party.
But I’ve made it even easier for you- starter lots, as well as small Christmas themed lots
and single add on are coming to site. You only need to find the frame in the size you want. Now you don’t have to hunt down all the pieces and spend 3x the money on finding them.
Are you ready to make your own jewelry tree?
