Arlington-based D.R. Horton, the biggest homebuilder in the U.S., signed a deal with Promise Robotics, a company from Toronto.
The robots work inside a factory and can build the frame for a two-story, 1,800-square-foot house in about 8 hours.
The finished frames are then shipped to the job site. The deal covers more than 1,250 homes near Phoenix, and the factory there is set to open in early 2027. D.R. Horton says the goal is to build homes faster and more consistently.
