When I have pre-set plans, my brain doesn’t have to do all the work that tires it out before I even get started. It’s so helpful!! if you ever ask me to build something for you, you can bet that my first action is to look for somebody who has already done it first.

Staining these bench pieces before assembly. This makes the whole process a bit easier after assembly.

And a huge table with two benches and still haven’t even used a whole quart of my Minwax Early American. I could probably get another set out of this can if anyone needs a table. 😂

I’ll be at the farmers market this evening from 5-8 with another limited supply of coffee this evening!

My Kreg Tool pocket hole jig makes these projects so much easier. So much easier…

Putting several coats of Minwax Spar Urethane on the bottom of this outdoor table first before I flip it over to do the top. This sucker is heavy, so I’m glad I remembered to do this before I called for help to flip it!

Threaded inserts to make these table legs nice and sturdy!! I don’t always have the right tools, but the great part about growing up on a working farm is that you learn how to just figure it out.

I had my friend Kristen Budde Music come up from the Nashville area last night to do a small house show for my friends and I for my birthday. I don’t know if you know people that can do this or are willing to, but I always highly recommend live music for a good night!

Thanks, Kristen! So glad we connected a couple years ago. Check out her stuff on all the platforms in find her on Spotify and Apple Music!

Another big project in the starting phases. I get to start this one from scratch, though. This is going to be an outdoor table, so I am only sanding to 80 grit just to smooth it down so when I put the finish on, that outdoor finish will soak in really well deep into the wood.

The more you sand, obviously the smoother the wood gets, but that is because its pores close the more and more you sand, so it lets less stain and finish in. So I wanted to cut all these pieces, sand and stain them before I assembled.

That’s a lot of lumber.

I always have to watch a quick video to refresh my memory when it comes to changing blades, but other than not being able to unscrew it by hand initially, it went well! RYOBI TOOLS USA

Going from old and yellow to a bit more modern!

This dresser is going to a young couple for their new baby they’re adopting that should be here any time! I’ve seen pics of this nursery as they’ve been working on it, and it’s going to look so great!!

Adoption is such an incredible and incredibly hard journey to walk through, so just know if you have friends or family walking this road, know they’re on a roller coaster of emotions at virtually every turn. If you can brighten their day some, do it! You won’t regret it!!
