just redefined outdoor living and we are completely floored that this is actually outdoor furniture. One of my all-time favorite brands just entered the outdoor world, and somehow exceeded every expectation. GOING DARK: As one of the darkest rooms in the house, I decided to lean all the way in instead of fighting it. Darker walls, deeper tones and it completely changed the feel. It’s cozier and somehow more inviting than when I tried to brighten it up with white walls.
The real finishing touch was the matching bedding. I partnered with NAUTICA in this room design, and their classic stripes mixed with subtle anchor prints made it so easy to layer without overthinking it. Sticking to a tight navy, blue and white palette let me play with pattern in a way that still feels collected. It’s one of those spaces that guests LOVE the minute they walk in.
Now it feels less like a guest room and more like a place you actually want to curl up in!

Oh how I wish I could say there was no budget when building our new home. But they don’t call me a black belt in bargain shopping for nothing! 😂
I’m always surprised when guests walk in and compliment my selections. The truth? I knew we’d blow the budget out of the water if I didn’t get creative—so smart shopping became my superpower.
Here are the steals + deals everyone loves:
1️⃣ KitchenAid dual-fuel range — snagged at half price by asking the showroom when they update their vignettes. Stored that baby like gold until install day.
2️⃣ Full sized beverage cooler — a display model for one-third the cost and it holds SO much more.
3️⃣ wave peel and stick wallpaper— took forever to install but worth every second.
4️⃣ Mexican handmade tiles — found at an estate sale for $40!
5️⃣ Wine wall — leftover flooring + affordable stackable wine racks = magic.
6️⃣ Crystal + chrome door k***s — bought in bulk and saved a ton.
7️⃣ Discontinued/overstock tile aisles — never skip them… hidden gems live here.
8️⃣ Envelope stair lights — adorable, functional, and under $100.
9️⃣ Fan/light combo — under $150, quiet, and chic.
🔟 Custom upholstered sofa — $200 on Facebook Marketplace and never sat on. COME ON! (Ross was less thrilled about the pickup. 😂)
