Your Chamber team of Lindsay Madison and Leslie Godden, are kicking off the MAKO 4-State Chamber Conference in Branson with a great message by keynote speaker Jeff Siegler of Revitalize, or Die.

Some Tuesday morning thoughts on communities and Downtowns ~ Main Streets:

Beauty matters, plant the flowers.
Have community standards.
Build a legacy.
Construct places that make residents happy.
Healthy people don’t live in deteriorating spaces.
Build better and maintain it more.
Make it easier for people to feel a sense of pride.
Celebrate local history.
Why would we let things built so beautifully decline.
Strive to be a community that has high standards and where it’s safe to invest.
Foster a sense of ownership, engage residents, people will feel rooted.
Make it easy for people to socialize.
Have public spaces where people want to be.
We navigate the world by appearances, people make choices by appearances, decide what we want to present ourselves as, as a community. What we put in our eyes affects our mental health.
A street can be ugly or it can be pretty, make it pretty.
Constantly raise our standards. People will benefit.
Civic pride and sense of ownership matter.
Stop overthinking it and just get to work.
You never plow a field by turning it over in your mind.
