Well, per usual, you guys rock! We just hit another milestone 7000 followers🤯 I cannot thank every single one of you enough. It really keeps me motivated to keep on putting out the material/educating about your trees. I made this little video announcement because of the horror of anybody having anything that had an association with a data center. But again you guys are amazing!!! Almost speechless. Almost… I do have a few other words that I would like to add if given the leeway for some others that watch the page.😉. If we’re going to be outraged about ai/data centers, let’s at least be consistent with our rage. 😂
U.S. golf courses use roughly 531 BILLION gallons of irrigation water every year. U.S. data centers directly consume about 17.4 BILLION gallons of freshwater. That’s billions !!!
Golf courses: roughly 30 X as much.
Golf courses also take up a massive amount of land, replacing trees, forests and natural habitat with turf that has to be irrigated, mowed and treated with fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides and insecticides.

An EPA national survey estimated golf courses used nearly 12 million pounds of pesticide active ingredients per year.
In 2021, golf courses applied approximately 5.8 million pounds of chlorothalonil active ingredient alone. They accounted for 82% of the chlorothalonil used in the non-residential turf and ornamental sector. Chlorothalonil also accounted for nearly 75% of fungicide active ingredient, by pounds, applied to golf courses.
EPA has identified serious environmental risks associated with chlorothalonil. The most recent registration review found acute and chronic ecological risks of concern from chlorothalonil for fish, amphibians, aquatic invertebrates, birds, mammals, and aquatic non-vascular plants.
I’m not arguing that data centers have no environmental impact. Of course they do.
I’m saying if 17.4 billion gallons of our water has you reaching for the pitchfork, and 531 billion gallons of water being used, deforestation and serious environmental poisoning to us in our lands doesn’t-well then I think we’ve got some serious equilibrium problems. 😂
Now who’s with me. Immediately go to all your media outlets and post protest inspired items about golf courses and how they need to go. One last thing, every time you comment about how bad ai data center are, don’t forget that Facebook’s whole platform is meta driven buy those exact same data centers and uses the same means that you’re complaining about when you make the complaint post. I’m just saying.🤷🏼♂️
