Just got off the phone with a new client of ours, and it really means a lot when customers take the time to do their homework.

He told me he received 6 different bids. Five of the six were within about $50 of each other, while one was nearly $10,000 higher.

What stood out the most wasn’t the price—it was that he said our Google reviews helped make the decision.

Thank you to every customer who has taken a few minutes to leave us a review. It truly helps small businesses like ours grow and gives new customers confidence when choosing who to trust with their electrical work.

We appreciate every opportunity. ⚡️

⚡ QUICK QUESTION FOR HOMEOWNERS ⚡

How old is your electrical panel?

Most people know how old their roof is.
Most people know how old their HVAC is.
But very few know how old the electrical system powering their entire home is.

If your lights flicker, breakers trip often, or you’re constantly using power strips because you’ve run out of outlets, your electrical system may be trying to tell you something.

A panel upgrade can improve safety, increase capacity, and help protect your home’s electronics.

Drop a picture of your panel in the comments, and I’ll tell you if it’s something I’d keep or something I’d start budgeting to replace.

⚡️ Another one fixed the right way. ⚡️

Customer was having electrical issues with their septic sub pump. After troubleshooting, we found it had been ran on two 15 amp breakers with undersized wire for the distance.

Anything over 100ft, you have to account for voltage drop. When wire is undersized, pumps and motors can lose performance, overheat, trip breakers, and eventually fail.

We trenched in new conduit, pulled the correct wire, verified proper voltage, and got the septic pump back operating like it should. ✅

This is why proper wire sizing and correct breaker setup matters.

⚠️ Found the problem.

The neutral terminal inside this receptacle had a broken brass tab, which caused a loose neutral connection. Even though the issue was hidden inside the device, it was enough to create heat and could have led to serious damage.

A loose neutral can cause:

* Flickering lights
* Intermittent power
* Burned connections
* Damaged electronics
* Fire hazards

This is a good reminder that sometimes the problem is not in the panel—it can be a damaged device causing the neutral to overheat.

If you notice warm neutrals, flickering lights, or power acting strangely, don’t ignore it.

At GPM Electrical, we troubleshoot the root cause and fix it the right way.

Why a Neutral Gets Hot

The neutral carries return current whenever a 120-volt load is operating. If there is:

* A loose connection
* A backstabbed receptacle with poor contact
* A damaged conductor
* A shared neutral carrying heavy load
* Corrosion or oxidation at the splice

then resistance increases, which creates heat.

Do not make your plugs up like this!!!
