She Turned Old Tires Into a Wishing Well Planter

Five old tires, a ring of pavers and a bucket of white pebbles — that's all she started with.

Watch her build this wishing well planter step by step: marking the circle, laying every paver by hand, stacking the tires one by one, painting them cream, pink and purple, raising the posts, fitting the crossbeam, mounting the gable frame, laying the shingles panel by panel, and planting every flower herself. The hanging basket goes in last.

I turned old tires into a tiered garden around my olive tree 😍🪴

This corner of the yard was just a bare circle of dirt and a stack of old tires nobody wanted. I moved the olive tree into the middle, stacked the tires in rings around it, and painted every one of them white. Then came the soil, lavender, yellow daisies and a few herbs tucked into each tier. The last touch was a border of white river pebbles and small warm lights, so it glows at dusk.

It took a few weekends, cost very little, and kept a pile of tires out of the landfill. Now it's the spot where I have my coffee every evening.
