Some people might see the first photo and gasp at the fact that I painted over natural oak. π
And I totally get it!
But this handrail had actually been previously painted black, and unfortunately, it wasn't done properly. So rather than simply painting over it again, I stripped it all the way down to the bare wood and started the refinishing process from scratch.
Proper prep, wood-bonding primer, and a fresh finish in Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane - Tricorn Black brought this handrail back to life. π€β¨
Same color, stronger finish.
