My purpose and motivation is to design buildings and spaces to enhance the quality of life through unique, workable solutions that are beautiful, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly. The Kaufman Collaborative is a Southern California architecture firm with over 25 years experience in commercial, institutional, and residential architecture. We believe in Environmentally Responsible Design,
combining passive solar planning and green sustainable technology with an acute sense of visual and artistic sensibility. We dream in color and challenge the assumption of conventional space, which means we look beyond the obvious for unique and tailored solutions. We've designed projects in diverse locations throughout California, Arizona and Texas. Each project is important to us, particularly the design process and serving the Owner. We've developed long-term relationships and have a stated objective to stay close to each project from beginning to end. For this reason we utilize a hands-on approach during construction to ensure that the Owner receives what was promised. We believe that good design does not have to be expensive, and above all want my clients to be confident in the process and satisfied with the outcome. We believe in a team approach to architecture and planning and that active participation between the Owner, Architect and Contractor will produce a better product. Our team consists of staff and professional associates who collaborate as necessary. Our consultants are knowledgeable of codes and have developed positive relationships with local boards and agencies. We are active in our community and have had the honor of serving as a guest juror and presenter several times at Cal Poly Pomona College of Architecture and Environmental Design. We remain current in the design field and have completed postgraduate courses at UC San Diego, UC Berkeley and Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
