People spend most of their lives indoors. So what's under the floor matters. What's on the walls matters. What you're breathing while your kids play on the ground, it all matters.

When we started this renovation outside Jackson, Wyoming, we pulled out sixteen years of carpet and found particulates and moisture that had been accumulating quietly. The home was dark, congested, working against the family living in it.

We wrapped every original beam in reclaimed Montana barnwood. Laid reclaimed oak across the floors. Brought in hand hewn timbers, cedar shake, copper roofing, and tumbled stone. Surfaces you can trust. Air that can move. Light that can reach you.

We brought the legacy of the landmarked bar above to life through historical materials and artwork. Dramatic pink chairs bring a "cosmic country" energy to the space. On the wall, a centerpiece of polished longhorns and original burl wood frames the bar, creating a refined but authentic Western atmosphere that will last for generations.

Located on Jackson Lake in Grand Teton National Park, Deadman's Bar is designed to tell the story of its dramatic location. We collaborated with artist Bland Hoke, known for his metalwork at the Jackson Hole airport, to create the custom steel fireplace surround. His three dimensional art piece maps the winding course of the Snake River, letting the water's path run right up to the ceiling before spilling onto the steel panels of the adjacent w**e room, so you can trace your next river adventure without leaving your seat.
