Soaking up these last few weeks of hydrangea season. 🤍

Not quite ready for summer blooms to be over, but I’m loving every minute of what’s left!

Trusting the timing of your life is a lot like growing a garden. 🌿

You plant the seed, you water it, you care for it, and then you wait. You can’t rush the roots or force the flowers to bloom before they’re ready.

Life is the same way. Just because you can’t see the growth yet doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.

Trust the process. Trust the timing. Keep tending to what matters—and let the rest unfold in its own time. 🤍🌱

A little reminder for this week: make time for the things you love. 🤍 Do what makes you happy, spend time where you feel most at peace, and don’t be afraid to slow down and enjoy it.

For me, you’ll find me in the garden. 🌿 What will you be doing that you love this week?

Creating The Garden at Hannah Lane Designs has become so much more than just gardening. 🌿

It’s been therapeutic—a place to slow down, get my hands in the dirt, be creative, and simply enjoy the little things. Watching this garden grow and change has been such a special part of my life. 🤍

So thankful for this little happy place I get to create, one plant at a time. 🌱

Amen to that 🙌🏽💛

If you’re transitioning a Tennessee garden from summer into fall, I’d focus on these 5 main things:

1. Deadhead & clean up 🌿
Remove spent blooms, dead foliage, and anything looking diseased. Don’t feel like you have to cut everything back yet—many perennials are better left standing until later.
2. Refresh your mulch
Add a fresh layer of mulch around trees, shrubs, and garden beds. It helps protect roots, retain moisture, and prepare plants for cooler weather.
3. Plant for fall color 🍂
Start thinking about fall annuals, mums, pansies, ornamental grasses, and late-blooming perennials to keep the garden looking beautiful as summer flowers fade.
4. Keep watering! đź’§
Don’t stop watering just because temperatures start dropping. Newly planted trees, shrubs, and perennials especially need consistent moisture while establishing their roots.
5. Plan and plant spring bulbs 🌷
Fall is the time to get those spring-flowering bulbs in the ground. Start planning where you want tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and other bulbs to pop up next spring.

The biggest tip: Don’t rush to cut everything back. A little garden cleanup now, combined with some thoughtful planning, will set you up for a beautiful fall and an even better spring.
