Two offices, plenty of alter egos. 🎃

Our Lafayette crew brought a little bit of everything today, while the New Orleans office went full Spy Kids. Happy Halloween from AQ Studos!

AQ Studios loved getting together with our Lafayette community for some friendly competition in support of local students and educators at the Third Annual Lafayette Parish School System Superintendent's Gumbo Cook-Off! Thanks to our AQ cooking crew who landed us a delicious fourth place and to everyone who stopped by for a bowl!

After years of sitting vacant in downtown New Orleans, the former Archdiocese building is back as a $40 million boutique hotel. Designed by AQ Studios, the adaptive reuse project balances modern hospitality needs with the preservation of the building’s distinctive midcentury architecture. Historic tax credits played an important role in making the transformation possible.

A former Archdiocese office building in downtown New Orleans has been transformed into a nearly $40 million boutique hotel.

VCAY New Orleans features 179 bedrooms across 39 multi-bedroom suites, shared living spaces, a swimming pool and other amenities.

Take a look inside the redevelopment of the historic 1962 building and the hotel concept designed for group travelers: https://bizneworleans.com/vcay-opens-40m-hotel-in-former-archdiocese-building/

Exciting progress is underway on the new Town of Maurice Town Hall! Designed to serve the town’s growing community, the facility will bring municipal services together under one roof, featuring administrative offices, a modern Council Chamber, and improved spaces for public services and civic engagement. Working closely with town leadership, AQ Studios designed the new Town Hall to meet today’s needs while planning for the future. We’re excited to see this new civic landmark taking shape!

Members of our Healthcare Studio have spent the last few days connecting with industry colleagues and exchanging ideas shaping the future of healthcare design at the Healthcare Design Conference + Expo in New Orleans. A highlight was the opportunity to showcase one of our most significant adaptive reuse projects, leading conference attendees on tours of the Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine and sharing insights into its design.

AQ Studios was a proud sponsor of Swamp Pop on the Rooftop last week, benefiting The Foundation for Terrebonne General Health System. An evening of Louisiana music and community spirit supported an important mission: expanding access to health screenings, patient assistance, and wellness programs across the Bayou Region.

As the architects for Terrebonne General’s new Healthy Lifestyles Center, we’re excited to support that mission through both our work and our community involvement. Thank you to the Foundation and everyone who helped bring this evening together!

A school building should be designed around an operating philosophy. When that philosophy changes without a corresponding update to the plan behind the building, its capacity can feel like it has shrunk, even though the building itself has not changed.
