Does anyone in Richmond want some FREE oak firewood? We're removing this dead pin oak tomorrow and can load for you. If no one comes while we're working on site, we can deliver if you're nearby, but you'll have to be able to take a full dump trailer and we'll have to be able to back in, dump it, and drive away. Old Glory Tree Co has an immediate opening for a climber. Experience with and without spikes with a lifeline in place and can do basic limb walks is required (if your only experience is a flip line and spikes, I'm sorry, but that's not how we do it). Basic rigging experience necessary (know how to set a block, route a rigging rope, know how to negative block, etc). Pay starts at $27/hr if the minimums above can be demonstrated, possibly more if advanced climbing/rigging skills can be demonstrated. One of the jobs the other day included branch structure pruning on this white pine. Reduction cuts were made to reduce the height/length on the limbs growing farthest off-center to encourage more vertical growth on the central lead. It appears some foliage was removed on the side facing the camera, but that was a lateral branch from a broken pine that we removed! No cuts were made that were over 3-4", and most were about 2".

This is a reminder to everyone to NEVER pay for tree work up front, either in part or in whole. Unfortunately there are despicable people among us that will work part of a day, take half the money for a job, and ghost you with debris and logs still in your yard and the majority of a tree still standing.

I know I've been pretty much MIA from posting anything, but we've been busting butts trying to keep up with the work coming in. Today, I decided it was time to increase our productivity with the help of and and picked up a new SCL1000 mini skid! Although it looks good in the .trailers dump trailer for now, it's going to end up on a custom platform on the green truck.

Free firewood, delivered free in Lexington. Call or text (859)351-2150. It was a pear tree, good for firewood, grilling if you have a smoker, or wood turning. If it's not claimed by Tuesday, it's going to the mulcher. Almost a complete trailer load.

A little bit of crown reduction was done on this mature redbud to reduce the risk of storm damage. Also cleaned out a bunch of dead wood and gave it house clearance and yard clearance for the neighbor. All cuts on live wood were under 2.5" in diameter and at the ends of limbs and branches to reduce leverage and minimize the chances of decay. This is the proper way to reduce a tree instead of topping!
