I met Jay and his team 25 years ago. We were on a plane to Scottsdale to begin research for a new restaurant. That trip and Jay’s friendship changed my life as an architect. I will dearly miss him.
Jay: I ate both lunch and dinner today at Lazlos. I watched your staff, timed the food delivery, tested the French fries on each of our plates, watched how long it took for water glasses to be filled and tables to be bussed. Your team was an A+. I raised my glass and toasted you and what you created. Thank you for all the memories, lessons and friendship. Godspeed old friend.

Blessed Sacrament progress review: Painting continues, sanctuary steps have been revised, adoration chapel and altar of sacrifice have arrived, choir rail has been removed and new structure will begin installation, and floor prep will begin this next week. Thank you to Cheever Construction for keeping us on schedule and on budget!

Blessed Sacrament - Lincoln Renovation Update: This week we took delivery of the first millwork shipment (new choir loft rail and adoration chapel for altar) and cut the marble mensa to reduce the altar of sacrifice length.

Jessica and Kevin met with the St Joseph - Beatrice 5th grade to discuss the design of their new church interior, the occupation of architecture and how their current math study is used in the practice of architecture. They measured the length, width and height of the nave then calculated the area and volume of the church. Those totals were then used to estimate the cost of various materials used in the project. It was an honor to work with these amazing students.

Watercolor was the focus of Kevin’s American Institute Architecture Students Mentor Group’s monthly meeting. Solid wash, graded wash and color transition wash was practiced. He hopes sharing these techniques helps to build an interest in this traditional rendering method.
