The Manchester by-the-sea Museum Exhibit for “The Revolution and the War at Sea” published a Booklet of all the works of art in the show and my painting was represented. Expected, but still exciting to see. The exhibition will be up until September 19, 2026. Try to catch it if you are in the area.

Glorious Gloucester

This past weekend I've been working on some new paintings of Gloucester-near our favorite Annisquam River rental house. I'm looking out over the river, the beaches, the coastal marshes and the New Englander cottages. Its a very joyous time of the year and much anticipated. The Gloucester Trip 2026

Yes, soon I will be heading for the glorious Annisquam River in Gloucester. Hoping to finally get on my floating studio and make some great new paintings. I've been sick most of the Spring with bronchitis, poison ivy, etc, etc and I haven't been able to paint much. Hopefully it will all be a bad memory and I can work fresh!...

I’ve been adding some oil pastel color to my recent stealth sketches of my Market Basket people. I think it gives them an entirely new look. I like the color intensity of the medium, but I’ve always found oil pastels difficult to work with. A few passes and the paper gets super saturated with color and won’t take a new color layer ontop. Nice for quick sketching though.
