Crazy how fast life moves.

Between work, family, and everything else life throws at you, I haven’t posted much lately for ... but I’ve still been watching. And what the athletes at Tri County High School are doing right now deserves recognition. The boys team is still undefeated in league competition, and both the boys and girls have been out there pushing themselves to the limit every meet! 🏁

What stands out to me isn’t just the wins either. It’s seeing kids push past what they thought their limits were. Exhausted, hurting, doubting themselves, and still finding another gear anyway.
That kind of mindset will carry them a lot farther in life than just track.

Some of the recent meets being back home has been special too. Bringing my family back to the same place where I once chased my own goals reminds me how much God can do with time, hard work, and a little faith. Sometimes you don’t realize while you’re living a moment that one day it’ll become part of your foundation. ❤️

Being able to drive down in the mobile has been icing on the cake, too! 😂

I started because I wanted kids to have something to chase. Something bigger than excuses. Bigger than comfort. Bigger than “good enough.”

Talent is nice. God-given ability is a blessing. But discipline, perseverance, and heart? Those are choices. And this group keeps choosing to fight 🔥

Keep your foot on the gas guys and gals!
You’re building more than times right now, you’re building yourselves.

Work truck in the shop, the weather finally broke.. So we had to bring in the closer.

Marge (aka the Pickle Rick mobile) is back on the streets 😎

Not exactly the usual ride, but she’s about to have the neighborhood flocking like seagulls on a dropped bucket of fries 🍟

End of the day, doesn’t matter what I show up in, something’s getting handled.

A little sneaky peaky of some freshly laid tile! Ready for grout and close to the finish line. 🔨

What used to be empty space under the stairs is almost complete. Thanking our Lord for the strength and ability to build something beautiful from scratch.

From framing to laying, blessed through the mess. 💪

Some seasons in life you don’t realize how much things have changed until you stop and look around.

Watching the track team now compared to years ago is one of those things.

There was a time when numbers were so low and just filling events was a challenge. Now you see a full team, real depth, energy, and young men and women willing to compete and push each other. That kind of growth is an amazing thing to see! 🔥

Frankenmuth was full of enthusiasm and grit, and Tuesday Tri County hosted Grant and came away with the win! More than results though, it’s the heart behind it that stands out.

Big congratulations to Tyler Schuster on a new personal best and a win in the 800 with a 2:09.31. That’s what hard work, discipline, and believing in yourself can do.

It’s a blessing to watch these athletes grow not only in sport, but in confidence, character, and grit. God gives each of us gifts, but it’s up to us to be faithful with them.

Proud is an understatement.

Keep digging. Keep trusting. Keep finding that next gear.

The best is still ahead.

Yesterday was Tri-County at Big Rapids and you already know we had to be there 🔥

Spent the day hanging cabinets in a 120+ year old house, then turned around and made the trip to watch the Vikings get after it on the track. Long day, but worth every bit of it!

That’s the kind of stuff I love, putting in work, then showing up for something that still means a lot. Not only to myself, but to my 4 wonderful Rugrats that love to cheer the teams on as well! (And okay, play in the mud, too! 😅)

The Vikings came to compete! Big congratulations for bringing home the win!

Big races, tough efforts, and more progress being made every meet.

Shoutout to Tyler Schuster and Henry Kauffman going 2 and 3 in the 800 and putting down strong times. That race never gives anything away!

Different season of life now... but that pride never left!

is still out there 👀

On to the next one!

Last night was the Lansing Catholic Early Invite over in Lansing, and I’m not gonna lie, that one hurt to miss.

Between a diamond pattern kitchen floor that’s not going to lay itself and a full day on the job, it just wasn’t in the cards. But we were still locked in from home, following along on AthleticNet Live and talking through the races as everything unfolded.

We grabbed takeout from our favorite spot, The Fountain Market Deli, and that turned into one of those moments too. Huge thank you to John, I forgot the dipping sauce right at closing, and he went out of his way to drop it off after work. That kind of care means a lot, truly appreciate it!

Even watching from a distance, you could still feel it. The Vikings showed up, holding strong in second against some tough competition for most of the meet.

And Elijah Poll, looks like a personal best in the 800! That’s what it’s all about right there!!

Proud of these kids. Even when we can’t be there, we’re still in it with them, and I’m looking forward to getting back trackside for the next one.

It sure is coming along!! 👏

Full day, full circle.

From bringing old floors back to life, to bringing my new life back to where my old life started 😁

After a day of refinishing 120+ year old floors, we made it over to the Tri County Track & Field opener for 2026, and it did not disappoint!

Tonight I got to bring all 4 of my kids to the track where this all started for me over 20 years ago.
Hearing my 3-year-old yelling “Go Twy County!” while waving her flag, not even really knowing what’s going on, just cheering with everyone else 🖤💛 that’s a moment I won’t forget.

Thank you to all the athletes, coaches, and staff for making these moments into memories that will last for generations.

Alex Culver ran a straight fire race tonight bringing home first place for the Vikings! Running a 2:05 🔥
Great job all around to the Viking men and women tonight!

My 800m record still stands but with a hot opener on the books, this may be the year we see a new mark set for the .

Two laps. One shot.

We're taking these century old floors to a new level!

What started as a wave pool of hardwood flooring, is now ready for refinish 🖤 These 100+ year old floors have some history, and we’re about to give them a whole new life!
Stay tuned 👊

Oh snap, LETS GOOO!! 🔥🔥
Track season is underway and you know what that means! $800forthe800 is back on the track!

New year, updates to the track and field, and we’re opening at home!? Couldn’t ask for a better start!

If you were around last year, you already know what this is. If you’re just starting, it’s simple. The 800. It's a beast.
That race will test you.

My 800m record has been standing for almost 20 years now, and every year there are guys who step up, take their shot, and find out real quick what it takes to be in that conversation. Some get a taste of it, some fall off, but all of it is a testament to what that race demands out of you.
Two laps doesn’t sound like much… until you’re in it.

It’s that last 200.
It’s that moment where your body’s done but the race isn’t.
That’s where it’s decided. You either go all in and find that extra gear, or fall out.
And that’s why this is here.

An $800 scholarship to the one who gets it done, and from there, the standard just keeps moving.
I’ve been around this race for a long time. I know what it takes, and I know what it gives back when you really go after it.

“To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.”
-Steve Prefontaine

So if you’re lining up… don’t leave it halfway.
See you on the track 👀
