What if this weekend we slowed down a little? ✨

What if we bought the flowers, drank our coffee from the pretty mug, baked the pastry tart, wore the dress just because, and let ourselves enjoy the little things?

A little more wandering.
A little less rushing.
A little more whimsy.
A little less checking things off the list.

I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since my surgery, but here I am, Wagging Tail in hand (my post-appointment treat because the instrument they have to use during these check-ins is not my favorite) and headed home with not a whole lot of new info, but still a really good appointment overall!

Just a little health update because a few people have asked, and I really haven’t had much to report until today. We still aren’t exactly sure where the issue came from, but the doctor’s best guess is that the blockage in my airway was a birth defect (quirky since birth, I guess 😂) that either became more blocked as I got older or possibly worsened due to something like acid reflux.

(And before anyone asks… I am not interested in giving up jalapeños, spicy margs, or coffee because they are my love language. That would be a travesty in my eyes!!)

Are they positive that the blockage won’t come back? No. Apparently scar tissue likes to grow on scar tissue 🤷🏻‍♀️ But for now, my breathing is regular, I feel AMAZING, and they’ll continue monitoring everything every few months, so I’m calling that a win in my book 🫶

Current mood: create a space where you can take a few minutes just for you 🤍

When I opened the shop, my #1 goal was to create a space where people could escape for a little bit… stroll with a coffee in hand and catch their breath from the craziness of life.

The shop has always been more than just shopping for us. Sometimes it’s finding something cute, sometimes it’s catching up with a friend, and sometimes it’s simply slowing down for a minute and wandering 🫶

Sometimes I need the reminder too… 🤍

I spent today on Porter’s field trip, and while there are always messages to answer, things to do at the store, lists to check off, and a million things pulling at me… I’m reminding myself that it’s okay to slow down.

These little years won’t last forever. One day the field trips end, the hand holding changes, and they won’t ask me to tag along quite as much. Right now, they still want me there — and I’m trying hard to miss that.

Trying to hold on to the little moments that are so easy to rush through… because I have a feeling these are the days I’ll miss the most someday. 🤍

Lately I’ve been a little MIA around the store and especially online, so I just wanted to pop on here and say hi and explain a little. 🤍

Ball season has me running around a little extra these days and this is just the season of life I’m in right now. Between games, practices, opening up the concession stand, and feeding what feels like the entire ballpark, life has been full in the best kind of way. ⚾️

I know these days won’t last forever. One day things will slow down and I know I’ll miss the rushing around, the nights at the field, running the scoreboard (I’m no pro but I’m working on it 😂🙃), the concession stand chaos, and all of the little moments in between. I’ll miss watching my boys doing what they love and being right in the middle of it all.

So right now I’m trying really hard to be where my feet are — to be present and soak it all in while I’m in it. Because I know one day I’ll wish for just one more game, one more busy night at the ballpark, one more moment in the middle of all the chaos.

So if I’ve seemed a little quiet lately, that’s why. Thank you for continuing to support me, this little dream of mine, and giving me grace while I wear a few extra hats during this season of life. 🫶
