One side effect of working in renovation: your own home is never finished.

The more amazing homes I work in and the more creative people I meet, the more my own tastes evolve. Every project leaves me with a new idea, a new appreciation for good design, or a new detail I want to try at home.

Looking around this dining room, I can see years of inspiration collected from designers, tradespeople, clients, and homes that have shaped the way I think about space.

Will it ever be finished?

Probably not.

But that’s the fun of it. Every home should evolve with the people who live in it.

30-40+ people involved, that’s why.

These are just the numbers for an interior basement renovation too. There’s a lot of links in the chain. Mistakes happen. Delays happen. Life happens.

Believe me, it’s in my best interest to finish a project on time or early. But alas, even the best laid plans are subject to circumstance and small time slips that compound overtime.

Building in some buffers and knowing your trades is a great defense.
