This was brought to my attention and if you have a business page on Facebook, you'll want to pay attention as well. The rules that Facebook is proposing to take effect on October 30, 2026 will make any business liable for mistakes made by Facebook's AI system. Why this is an issue is that if you continue to use Facebook Business after that date, you are agreeing to not only be liable but to allow their AI system to aggregate your page content and create AI content without your permission. And those unauthorized posts on your behalf, should they contain mistakes made by the AI system, are what you, as a business, can be held liable for. At this point there is final wording that needs to be hashed out. So here's what I'm doing. Until Facebook publishes their final wording...
1. I am halting all posts and contact through Facebook. My contact information is available on Google Maps and on my old website otrdrafting.com. Feel free to contact me directly. Again, I will not respond to any contact through Facebook until they sort this out.
2. I will make a later post stating whether I'm continuing to use Facebook at a later date. This post is my final post until then.
3. For the record, I do not authorize Facebook to create any AI content using my business page content. If they try to hold OTR Drafting & Design LLC liable for any content they create, I will fight it with every available option in court. This is an absurd rule proposed by Facebook. I hope that they made a mistake and will fix it in their final wording.
4. If you have any questions regarding construction, building, etc. You will have to contact me directly and only for that information provided outside of Facebook with OTR Drafting & Design LLC assume ANY liablity as is standard practice with state and federal law.
The new terms, scheduled to take effect October 30, also expand enterprise liability to content the customer uses from its partners.
