There’s a reason light and airy bedrooms never go out of style. They have a way of making a room feel bigger, brighter, and instantly more relaxing.

A few elements that help create the look:
☀️ Plenty of natural light
🤍 Soft, layered bedding
🌿 Natural textures like wood, linen, and woven materials
✨ A simple, uncluttered feel
🕊️ A calming palette that lets your mind unwind

The best bedrooms aren't necessarily the most decorated, they're the ones that feel peaceful, comfortable, and inviting at the end of a long day. Sometimes the greatest luxury is simply having a space that helps you slow down. 😊

The homes I’m most drawn to are the ones that feel collected over time. Spaces with personality, meaningful pieces, layered textures, and things that actually reflect the people living there.

Not everything has to match perfectly. Sometimes the charm is in the mix of old and new, polished and imperfect, simple and sentimental.

That’s what makes a home feel warm, lived in, and truly welcoming. ✨

It’s usually not about buying more. It’s about layering the right things. They’re about warmth, balance, and how the room makes you feel.

Here are the 3 layers designers use to make a home feel warm, elevated, and pulled together:

💡 LIGHT
Soft lamps, warm bulbs, natural sunlight, cozy evening glow. Lighting changes everything.

🧺 TEXTURE
Linen, wood, woven pieces, soft pillows, greenery, ceramics. Texture is what keeps a home from feeling cold or flat.

🌿 HEIGHT
Tall branches, oversized art, floor lamps, high curtains, layered styling pieces. Height creates movement and gives a room that designer-finished feel.

Sometimes a home can have beautiful furniture and finishes but still feel a little off. Usually, it comes down to flow. Good flow is what makes a home feel natural, connected, and easy to live in.

A few things that help:
• consistent flooring throughout main spaces
• clear walkways and easy movement
• furniture that fits the scale of the room
• repeated colors and textures from space to space
• layered lighting instead of relying only on overhead lights
• rugs that help define and anchor each area
• less visual clutter and more breathing room

When everything works together, a home instantly feels calmer, warmer, and more inviting. 🌟

One of the biggest kitchen trends in Thumbtack's latest trend report is called Joydrenching—bringing more personality, color, and happiness into the heart of the home.

Think:

🎨 Colorful cabinetry or a painted island
✨ Statement lighting
🧱 Bold backsplashes
🌿 Patterned wallpaper
🔨 Mixed metals
🍋 Pops of color through accessories and styling

The goal isn't to make your kitchen louder—it's to make it feel more personal. After years of playing it safe, we're seeing kitchens become warmer, more expressive, and full of details that bring a little extra joy every day.

Would you try a little joydrenching in your kitchen?

You don't need a major makeover to make your home feel ready for summer. A few simple swaps can completely change the mood of a space:

☀️ Bring in fresh flowers or greenery
🐚 Display collected shells or natural elements
🕊️ Swap heavier textures for lighter linens
🍋 Add a subtle pop of seasonal color
🧺 Incorporate woven baskets or natural materials

Summer decorating doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes it's the small seasonal touches that make a home feel fresh, relaxed, and ready for the season ahead. What is your favorite way to welcome summer home?

Color can completely change the mood of a room.

🎨 Yellow = cheerful and optimistic
💙 Blue = calm and relaxing
🌿 Green = fresh and grounding
🤍 White = clean and airy
🤎 Warm neutrals = cozy and inviting
🖤 Dark tones = dramatic and sophisticated

Maybe that's why we're seeing more homeowners embrace color in unexpected ways—from painted cabinetry and statement wallpaper to colorful furnishings and bold accents.

The best color choices aren't always the trendiest ones. They're the ones that make you smile when you walk into the room.

What color are you most drawn to lately?

One of my favorite ways to warm up a home is through texture. Soft fabrics, natural wood, woven accents, stone, layered pillows and rugs… those are the details that make a space feel comfortable and collected instead of flat.

A room doesn’t have to be perfect to feel beautiful. Sometimes it just needs a little warmth and layering. ✨

Effortless summer curb appeal is usually less about a major transformation and more about thoughtful little layers.

Fresh greenery, a simple doormat, warm lighting, clean pathways, natural textures, and a few welcoming details can completely change the way a home feels from the moment you walk up.

I always love the relaxed feeling summer brings to a home. A little lighter, a little simpler, and a little more lived in. ☀️

What’s your living room style?

A 🤎 Traditional coffee table
or
B ☁️ Soft oversized ottoman

Lately, we’re seeing more homes lean into softer, layered spaces that feel relaxed and lived in — and oversized ottomans instantly warm up a room while adding texture and comfort.

But there’s still something timeless about a beautiful classic coffee table 👏

Which one are you choosing for your dream living room? ⬇️
