🐔 THE HEAT IS NO JOKE FOR OUR FLOCK! 🐔

When those Tennessee temperatures start climbing, our chickens need a little extra TLC! ❤️
💧 Fresh, cool water ALL day
🌳 Plenty of shade
❄️ Frozen treats & cool snacks
🍉 Watermelon, cucumbers & berries
🌬️ Good ventilation
🧊 Ice in their water for an extra cool-down

And keep an eye out for panting, weakness, wings held away from the body, or decreased egg production—these can be signs of heat stress.

🐔 What’s YOUR favorite way to keep your flock cool during these hot summer days? Drop your best tips below! 👇

🍅 Tomato hornworms have officially entered the chat! Anyone else battling these little green monsters right now? We found some and let’s just say… they weren’t invited! 😅

🍉 Watermelons are growing! They’re starting to get bigger, and we’re watching them every day hoping for a sweet harvest. 🍉❤️

🌻 And the sunflowers are finally starting to bloom! There’s just something about seeing those bright blooms pop up in the garden that makes all the hard work worth it. 🌻☀️

Now I want to know… WHAT’S GROWING IN YOUR GARDEN RIGHT NOW?

Sweet, refreshing, and made with fresh ingredients—original recipe: 6 cups blended watermelon, 4 cups lemon concentrate, 6 cups sugar. Heat the mixture to 190 degrees (do not boil), then waterbath for 20 minutes. When ready to enjoy, mix with equal parts concentrate and water, add ice, and enjoy!
