I visited the Agriaquaculture Center of Excellence this week and I must say how impressed I am with all they are doing. They’ve only been around for a year and a half but are already producing literal tons of leafy greens and catfish, much of which is donated. They do education for youth and adults. They are putting hydroponic systems in Jefferson Parish schools. They are expanding into other fruits and vegetable production. It is sponsored by the Louisiana Chamber of Commerce with funding from the state. If you’re interested in learning more, they are offering a one day intensive Introduction to hydroponics and aquaculture course on June 27th. More info at [email protected]
