Need some advice for this dining space!

We're planning to lay a runner on our U-shaped staircase, and I've fallen for a few Persian designs. How do you fit a patterned carpet around the turns without slicing it up? I found the original wool runner in the attic (way too damaged by moths to save), and it's just one single continuous piece. I just can't wrap my head around how that works. 😅

When your daughter asks you for a kitchen as a gift and you don't have money, but you have skill and creativity!!!.My mom taught me not to be discouraged even in difficult moments and I know it will pass because we work hard and even recently opened our own store on the Tedooo app (thanks for the tip) where I have already started helping people realize their dreams in an inexpensive way.

Help me, please! I got overconfident after a few successful DIY projects I tried from this group, and now I’ve ended up with THIS mess. I have no idea how to fix it! Any advice or even moral support would mean so much right now!

Ok - I asked this before, but I dont think I asked correctly—

We are at a stand off on how/where to end the backsplash…. Yes our cabinets are raised, so we have an abnormal amount of space between the countertops and upper cabinets…..

One of us says to keep the height of the backsplash all the way across on both sides on the window, and bring it to the end of the cabinets. The other says to have it lower on the left side of the window and bring it in a few inches.

There is a sliding glass door to the left and nothing is planned on going on that wall.

Help me out here…..

The cabinets are not moving! Yes they are high! We wanted them that way. I am 5’9 and my partner is 6’6. I didn’t ask for anyone to comment on the height of the cabinets.

Want to start remodeling my kitchen any ideas/suggestions in pictures I can get especially the sink area thanks for the ideas….. take out cabinets and do new everything…. Maybe do like a wall by the sink with a open view

These are tiles that run all the way through my kitchen and entry, how can I clean them to make them brighter or what could I replace them with. They are 29 yrs old.

I’m considering painting the kitchen cabinets before putting the house on the market and would love some honest opinions! Do you think painting them would make the kitchen look more updated, appealing, and move-in ready for potential buyers, or would it be better to leave the natural wood as it is? I’m leaning toward a neutral taupe or a warm, sophisticated greige that would work with the existing countertops, flooring, appliances, and overall style of the kitchen. I don’t want anything too trendy or too stark—just something that could give the space a fresher, more cohesive look and potentially help with resale appeal. If you were preparing this kitchen to sell, would you paint the cabinets, and if so, what color would you choose? Also, please ignore all the everyday kitchen clutter for now—I promise all of my junk will be packed away before listing! 🤣 I’d love to hear what you would do!

I’m in the middle of hiring a contractor to remodel my very 80s kitchen, and I’m trying really hard to make choices I won’t regret later. So tell me: what features did you think you were going to love, but now actually annoy you?

Things like pull-out trash cans that are too small, corner cabinets that seemed smart in theory, spice pull-outs that hit other doors, sharp hardware, awkward drawers… all of it. I’d love to hear what you would never do again.

And on the flip side, what are the more unusual choices you made that you ended up absolutely loving? Feel free to share photos too if you have them.
