🌳 Sometimes a property just needs a little breathing room again 😊

We recently helped a homeowner reclaim their yard after things had become pretty overgrown over the years. Our team carefully opened the space back up by trimming back heavy overhanging branches throughout the property to allow more natural sunlight back into the yard and around the home.

We also safely removed several large limbs hanging directly over the porch using professional rigging techniques to carefully lower everything in a controlled manner without damage to the surrounding area.

It’s always amazing how much brighter, safer, and more usable a property can feel after some thoughtful tree work 🌞🌲

🌳 A little cleanup can make a big difference in how a property functions day to day.

We recently helped a homeowner reclaim their driveway after a large patch of Catalpa saplings had started taking over the edge of the drive and narrowing the space quite a bit. Between the tight squeeze and thorny branches rubbing against vehicles, it was becoming more of a headache every time they pulled in and out.

While we were there, we also trimmed back several heavy overhanging limbs above the garage to help reduce the risk of branches falling onto the roof or parked vehicles.

Now the driveway is opened back up, the cars can pass through without getting scratched up, and the whole area feels safer and much more manageable again 😊🌳

🌲 A little roof clearance can go a long way.

We recently helped a homeowner by clearing back branches overhanging the house after their insurance company started giving them a hard time.

Joe carefully pruned everything back to give the roof some breathing room again 😊

We expected internal decay… but what we found inside was pretty wild 🌳😳

Deep in the hollow trunk was King Alfred’s Cakes fungus — a dark, coal-like fungus that grows on decaying wood.

When it’s dry, it was actually used historically as a natural fire starter because it can smolder for a long time. Pretty amazing for something that looks like a lump of burnt charcoal.

Beyond that, it plays an important role in nature by breaking down dead trees and returning nutrients back into the soil, basically recycling the forest from the inside out.

We love these cool finds… nature never wastes a thing.

This tree looked full, green, and healthy from the outside… 🌳

But once we got it on the ground, the inside told a very different story. The trunk was almost completely hollow from internal decay. 😳

Before removing it, Joe had already spotted some major warning signs:
▪️ deep trunk cracks
▪️ lifting bark
▪️ deadwood high in the canopy

Since it was hanging right over a house and porch, the whole removal had to be carefully performed to avoid any damage.

Good reminder that a tree can still leaf out beautifully while being structurally unsafe underneath.

If you ever notice large cavities, splitting trunks, or unusual fungal growth on a tree near your home, it’s worth having it checked out.
