Ever heard of a "sacrificial anode rod"? 🛑 If you own a home and haven't checked this, you might be sitting on a ticking financial time bomb.

Inside your water heater is a long metal rod made of magnesium or aluminum. Its sole job is to attract all the corrosive elements in your water. It literally sacrifices itself so your water heater tank doesn't rust and crack.
Once that rod dissolves completely, your tank is next. And a rusted tank means an inevitable flood—and a massive replacement bill. 💸

The Good News?
You can replace an anode rod yourself for around $30 to $50 in less than an hour. Doing this every 3 to 5 years can easily DOUBLE the lifespan of your water heater!
How to check if yours needs replacing:
1️⃣ Turn off the power/gas and the main water supply to the heater.
2️⃣ Drain out a few gallons of water using the valve at the bottom.
3️⃣ Locate the hex head on top of your tank and unscrew it using a cheater bar or impact wrench.
4️⃣ Pull it out. If it looks like a rusted skeleton or is completely eaten away, it's time for a new one!
