I'm Tara Lenney, a Registered Interior Designer in the great state of Texas, with 12 years of design experience (and counting). I feel strongly that great design should not be reserved for the ultra-rich. I would love to work with you and help to uncover your style and create something amazing. It’s one very important piece in the puzzle of how to live your best life, and I’m blessed to get to help so many folks with that.

Okay this one has been so fun to watch come together and I am VERY excited to finally share it with you: meet our Caledonia Project!✨

This one started with a space that had potential but wasn’t getting used. The outdoor area was cute(ish), but no cover, full Texas sun, and not exactly the kind of place you want to hang out for more than five minutes. Meanwhile, the kitchen inside was begging for more room to actually live in. So we fixed both!

We expanded and reworked the kitchen and dining to feel open, functional, and ready for real life. And outside? A fully usable living space with a covered patio, a gas fireplace for those cozy nights, and a TV perched above for game day. We even scaled back the sliding doors from the primary to make it all work, and it was 1000% worth it. Now it’s the kind of home where you can move seamlessly from inside to out and actually want to stay awhile.

THIS is what those 1970s kitchens were actually trying to do with that weird little desk tucked in the corner that nobody ever used. The function was right, the location was the problem. Sticking a workspace in the busiest, loudest room of the house? Pure chaos.

The office in our Authon project ended up being one of my favorite rooms in the house. What used to be an unused fourth bedroom is now a mudroom AND a mom's office that actually supports everyday life, without competing with dinner, homework, and whatever else is happening at 5 pm. It holds a lot, but the chaos is controlled behind doors, and when it's not, it's color drenched in the world's most lovely shade of blue. Lacross sticks just look better on a blue backdrop, amiright?

Install days are equal parts chaos and magic. We’re moving fast, making a thousand decisions, adjusting as we go, and then all of a sudden it clicks and the whole space comes to life. Truly nothing better. (And yes, there are always carbs to keep us going, that's non-negotiable because the donuts don't last to the end of the day lol)

This part of the house was a dark, closed-off kitchen. A dining room that functioned more like a hallway you passed through but never actually used. So we reworked everything. We pulled the kitchen forward, absorbed that in-between space, and finally connected the kitchen and dining in a way that makes sense for real life.

And one of my favorite moves? Relocating the garage door so we could open up an entire wall for a full prep and beverage zone. Fridge, microwave, wine fridge, ice maker… all the things you actually use, all in one place. Now it works AND it feels like it always should have. Friendly reminder that sometimes your existing doors and walls are just suggestions!

This Prairie Creek laundry room is pulling serious weight and doing it in style. Gingham tile underfoot (because putting patterns in unexpected places is one of my favorite things and I will never overlook an opportunity to put plaid ANYWHERE), tons of storage to keep real life contained, and a dedicated doggy water station complete with a pot filler because this family does not play about their pup. Functional, a little unexpected, and just enough personality to make you not mind doing the laundry. Honestly? One of my favorite rooms in the house. 🐾✨
