We had a most excellent time at the Oregon Carnivorous Plant Community show and sale over the weekend. Big thanks to Portland Nursery and Carson Trexler for hosting and planning!

The event was full nonstop, but I was able to snag a few pics, and caught some great candid snaps.

There is already buzz about planning another local event! 🐝

I have stratified and sown a million Sarracenia seeds by now, but you never forget your first time! I got extra lucky and successfully germinated several of these back in 2021. They were labeled Okee minor OP, though these are surprisingly true to form if they were indeed open-pollinated. Love this genus!

Happy birthday to this treasure of humanity. Though we have never met, he has been present every single day of my life. He shaped my ethics, my stubborn environmentalism, even the way I walk a rainy path so as not to step on a worm. In an anthropocentric world, he gently reminds us of the magic in nature. Each day he spends on this planet Earth is a gift to us all.
