Kickoff meeting with the Birdsmouth team at our new Passive House project near Reed College in SE PDX. Framing starts today! We went through the air barrier strategy, tricky framing details and transitions, thermal bridge mitigation, window install and the air to water heat pump system. Our client joined us for the kick off and brought a new term to add to our vocabulary— ‘Prosilience’… more on that later.

When the team comes together like this it is a way for us to be sure that we are all on the same page, allows everyone to ask questions and sets up the project for success. We all aim to do the highest quality work in the ways we can all contribute and the net result is an efficient build process, an efficient building, happy team and happy clients.

I really look forward to this one, please follow along as we bring this inspirational building to life!

Recent pics from an ADU we designed and built in SE Portland. Check out that custom designed for the space w the bifold triple pane doors. So so nice when it’s opened up on a nice day.

This all electric ADU is heated and cooled w a 6K BTU Mitsubishi heat pump, heat pump hot water heater and a Panasonic intelibalance ERV for fresh air. All framing lumber is certified from . Dense pack cellulose insulation, Majvest, Majrex and tapes. Concrete free slab on grade.

Performance and beauty. It’s like when the peanut butter fell in the chocolate…
