I’m a year late to exploring this gorgeous renovation and addition to the Albina Public Library. One side of the building is the stunning, Mission-style, 1913 Carnegie Building with gorgeous original tile work at the entrance. This connects to the new, two story, modern wing with gorgeous, exposed, mass timber framing, colorful artwork, open and airy spaces. I love libraries!

In this final part of the Ashcreek Remodel & Addition, we show off the new, single story, living area we added on to the back. Since we took over the original family room, we needed to add one back in. This addition included an office for Her and a new flex space designed for Dining or, the family baby grand piano or, as seen here, a play area while the kids are little. The outdoor access is so much better from here. And with the help of a landscape designer, what was left of the backyard became outdoor dining and terraced planting areas. Look at this amazing wallpaper uncovered during demo! This house is partially pre-1900, with an upgrade in the 20s and added on in the 40s and probably remodeled in the 60s. This feels 50s or 60s to me. Very delicate and cute! I’m a sucker for a monkey riding a camel holding balloons!
