Good design has a long memory.

That was one of my biggest takeaways from a week in Bordeaux, where medieval fortresses, merchant houses, châteaux, and modern interiors exist within the same design conversation.

I loved seeing the unexpected ways each era builds on the one before it, borrowing ideas, reinterpreting them, and occasionally breaking from them altogether.
