Flourish Spaces

Flourish Spaces We create highly personalized spaces that nurture and inspire the best in all who dwell in them.

Flourish was founded with the idea that well designed space can make individuals, teams and even organizations better. By mashing together science (insights and research on human behavior) and art (great design principles) a space can fuel productivity, inspire creativity, entice collaboration and even elevate the customer experience. And we pull it off with the talents of local makers and artists

whenever possible. We think we are doing something pretty cool and hope you'll follow us on the journey.

Some collaborations just feel effortless — and working with Sara of Foyer Gallery on the primary bedroom of the Richmond Symphony Design House was exactly that. ✨

From the very first conversation, Sara had an instinctive understanding of the space. The artists she chose were curated with such intention — bringing down the pretty tone of the room and adding a level of sophistication that completed the primary bedroom.

Get your tickets and come see it in person. Swipe to learn more about the artists showcased in the primary bedroom✨

💫Today I wanted to share more detail about our material and palette selections for the primary bedroom at the Designer Symphony Show House at Foundry Manor. Our jumping off point for the design was Little Greene’s Poppy Trails wallpaper, with its large scale print, movement and contrast. The walls and ceiling are getting painted the softest blush, while all of the trim will receive the dark, dusty rose, which keeps it from feeling too sweet. Given the abundance of pattern and contrast, we opted for neutral tones in our upholstery and furnishings, selecting shades ranging from aubergine to brown to beige. The design goal is to feel serene but not boring. So excited to see it come together! - Stevie💫

I’m thrilled to announce that Flourish Spaces has been selected to participate in the Richmond Symphony League’s 2026 Designer Show House. We’re honored to be designing the Primary Bedroom, and in the weeks ahead we look forward to sharing our design vision along with a behind-the-scenes look at the transformation of this beautiful home.

None of this would have been possible without the support and collaboration of our wonderful vendors and sponsors, and we can’t wait to highlight them throughout the process.

Touring Foundry Manor for the first time, it was hard to believe the home was built in 1987. Its stately proportions and thoughtful craftsmanship—most notably in the trimwork—are details rarely found in homes built in the later part of the 20th century. Highlighting the architectural trim and casework quickly became the natural starting point for our design.

At the same time, one of the room’s most compelling features—its volume and spaciousness—also presented our greatest design challenge. Our goal is to create a space that feels intimate and layered while still honoring the generous scale and openness the room offers.

Mark your calendars and plan to tour the Show House! The Opening Gala will be held April 10, with daily tours from April 14 through May 10. This wonderful event raises funds to support the Richmond Symphony.

We can’t wait to see how this already beautiful home will be transformed by 16 talented designers from across the Richmond area, each bringing their own unique vision to the project.

A special thank you to Diane Carnevale for the beautiful watercolor concept rendering of our vision for the Primary Bedroom.

✨A little material play in the studio today!

Featuring “Rhododendron Walk” wallpaper from the In the Garden collection by Little Greene, this palette explores the balance between lush pattern and grounding texture. The floral print brings an abundance of blooms and quiet movement, while deep green leather, natural woven carpet, and soft linen create a layered foundation.

Touches of brass reflects light, smaller scale patterns add contrast to the large botanical print, and a textured velvet introduces comfort and depth. A tailored linen roman shade with playful trim softens the space.

Paired with coordinating paints from Little Greene that can be mixed right here in our shop. This palette would feel right at home in a nursery, library, office, or a quietly elegant bedroom.

A reminder that thoughtful layering is what allows a room to truly flourish! ✨

Our Design Intention to our newest project in the Fan! This house was built by Duncan Lee, has many of the hallmarks of the British Arts + Crafts style for which he was known. The basis for our design finds inspiration in that context with updated twists and a focus on family functionality and flow. The Arts + Crafts elements we’ll draw heavily on include natural elements such as wood and stone, a focus on craftwork found in metal and textile, modern interpretation, warm colors low in saturation, forms imitating nature and lots of texture. ✨ Stay tuned for all phases of this beautiful project we couldn’t be more excited to work on! ✨

The most compelling trends are always the ones rooted in longevity. Classical design is finding its way back into the conversation, and I’m excited to share my perspective on how it’s reemerging in 2026. xo, Stevie
