Before there was a jar, there was a plant.
Before there was a label, there was soil.
Before Little Herban Farm could make anything, somebody had to grow the bounty.

That’s our side of the partnership.

Flower City Roots works on the living end of the chain:

LOOK WHAT THE GARDEN BECAME 🌱➡️🌿

This is one of our favorite parts of the entire growing season.

Looking at a garden and realizing:
that plant became THAT. 👀
This season’s harvest is helping fill the Little Herban Farm table with:

🌿 Plantain + Goldenrod Salve
💜 Chamomile + Lavender Salve
🌹 Rose + Chamomile Lip Balm
🍋 Lemon Balm + Lilac Sugar Scrub
🌸 Elderflower + Rose Whipped Body Butter
🫖 Herbal teas

That’s edible and useful landscaping doing exactly what we keep talking about.
A garden doesn’t have to exist just to look pretty.
It can feed you.
Teach you.
Support pollinators.
Grow herbs.
Provide ingredients.

And eventually become something entirely new.

Every square foot can do more than one job.

Fair Tease 🌱✨

We’ve been building something for this one. 👀

Not just a table.
An experience.

At the upcoming fair, Flower City Roots will be bringing the garden off the property and into the room with hands-on education, soil exploration, edible-landscaping conversations, practical growing tips, and plenty of chances to ask questions.

Kids will be able to touch and compare different soils.
Adults can pick our brains about yards, gardens, native plants, food production, pollinators, and making every square foot do more than one job.
And yes…

there may be stickers involved. 😂🌱
We’re bringing the roots.

NEW GROWTH!! 🌱😭

LOOK AT THEM. THEY HAPPIEZ!!!!

This is one of our favorite parts of plant care — that moment after a move, repot, trim, adjustment, or little bit of extra attention when the plant finally answers back:

new growth.

Tiny fresh leaves are basically the plant saying,
“Yep. I like what you did here.” 😂🌿

We watch for new growth because it tells us so much.
The plant is settling in.
The roots are working.

It has enough energy to start building again.
The environment is supporting it instead of just keeping it alive.

And after all the checking, moving, watering, soil work, and staring at plants like concerned parents…

Seeing those fresh little shoots feels SO GOOD. 😭💚
They happiez. We happiez. Everybody happiez.

Serenity Life ⚓ Art Experience 🌱🎨

Gardens aren’t the only places where we like getting our hands messy. 😂

We stopped into Serenity Art Bar for a little creative time and traded soil for clay.

There’s something about working with your hands that crosses every lane we operate in — gardening, building, planting, designing, creating.
You start with raw material.

You shape it.
You make adjustments.
You mess something up.
You work with it anyway.

And eventually something begins to take form.
Sounds suspiciously like gardening to us. 🌱😂

Huge thank you to Serenity for creating a space where people can come in, slow down, experiment, and simply make something.

Turns out we were busy being very laborious on Labor Day. 🌱😂
Gardens don’t exactly check the calendar before needing attention, and neither do growing projects, planning, harvesting, hauling, building, and all the little things happening behind the scenes at Flower City Roots.
So here’s to everyone who spent the holiday resting — and everyone who somehow accidentally worked through it. 😆

🌿 BIG HAUL. BIGGER SEASON AHEAD. 🍂

We are finally DONE shopping and officially getting ready to start making our fall batches for Little Herban Farm while Flower City Roots gets everything lined up for the next round of community events, education, and plant goodness.

Boxes, jars, oils, shea, beeswax, herbs, tools, packaging, supplies… the whole operation is finally coming together.

Now we get to do the fun part:

Make the things. 😆

Fall production is kicking off with salves, lip balms, sugar scrubs, body butters, teas, and plenty of homegrown botanical goodness — all made in small batches with the same farm-style, hands-on approach we’ve been building from the beginning.

And while we’re at it… 👀

Webster Wellness Fair, we’re coming.

After a long day of planting ideas, moving projects forward, and doing the work behind the work… sometimes the best thing you can do is sit down and EAT. 😂

Huge thank you to Hong Kong One for an amazing meal tonight. Exactly what was needed after a full day.

🌶️ WHEN THE HARVEST COMES IN HEAVY, YOU GET CREATIVE. 🌶️

When we grow in abundance, not everything gets eaten, sold, shared, or sent home with someone right away.

So the next job is figuring out how to keep that harvest useful instead of letting it go to waste.

These peppers got strung up and hung to dry — turning a big fresh harvest into something we can keep reaching for long after the garden slows down.

Cut it.
Share it.
Sell it.
Cook it.
Dry it.
Preserve it.

And if it doesn’t make it into your hands first… we’ll find another way to make sure it still gets used. 😂🌶️

That’s one of our favorite parts of harvest season: learning how to stretch abundance beyond the moment it was picked.

Grow more. Waste less. Preserve what the garden gives you. 🌱
