Everyone at SOK is excited to welcome winter back to the mountains!

This one-of-a-kind cabin embraces its rustic surroundings with natural wood siding and entire tree trunks used in place of traditional corner trim, bringing an authentic connection to the forest.

One of our favorite features? A bridge leading to the main entrance, turning the simple act of arriving home into an experience of its own.

A unique mountain retreat that feels right at home in the North Idaho landscape.

A modern lake home where every detail has a story.

Sleek lines and expansive glass frame incredible views of the water, while the home’s refined exterior gives way to unexpected moments within—including a secret loft tucked away above the main living space.

But some of the most distinctive details are found in the structure itself. Inspired by the intricate inner workings of a grandfather clock, exposed structural elements become part of the architecture—layered, precise, and intentionally expressed rather than hidden away.

It’s a home designed to celebrate the view, reward curiosity, and prove that even the most functional elements can become part of the art.

Modern simplicity, grounded in the landscape.

Set alongside a quiet stream in North Idaho, this sleek, minimalist home is designed to complement its surroundings rather than compete with them. Clean lines, understated materials, and expansive glass create a strong connection between the architecture and the natural beauty just beyond its walls.

As the seasons begin to change, we’re especially excited to welcome winter back to our region. There’s something remarkable about seeing North Idaho transformed by fresh snow—the forests, mountains, and architecture taking on an entirely different character.

We can’t wait to see spaces like this surrounded by the beauty of winter once again.

Perched on a steep ski-mountain site, this home uses bold modern lines, dramatic over-vertical walls, and a stilted foundation to create a form that feels suspended above the landscape. By minimizing contact with the ground, the architecture responds to the terrain rather than overpowering it.

The result is a home that feels both anchored to the mountain and impossibly light—a modern retreat shaped by slope, snow, and its surroundings.

Where the comforts of home meet the beauty of North Idaho.

Designed to blur the line between inside and outside, this space opens effortlessly to the surrounding landscape—bringing natural light, fresh air, and the overwhelming beauty of North Idaho into everyday living.

A home that doesn’t just sit in its surroundings, but becomes part of them.

Several local organizations are teaming up this Friday for a combined community event at Northeast Community Center. Coordinated Care is bringing its dental and vision vans to the site as part of its statewide summer tour, offering free screenings on a first-come, first-served basis. Alongside that, Coordinated Care, Second Harvest and Northeast Community Center are coming together for a Wildfire Relief Distribution, providing food, clothing, hygiene items, school supplies, and other resources for families and individuals affected by the recent wildfires in the Spokane area. This event is at no cost to families.
The dental and vision screenings are part of Coordinated Care's "healthcare on the road" summer tour, which is bringing Centene's dental and vision vans to cities across Washington alongside additional community resources. They are open to anyone in the community; no appointment is required. The wildfire relief resources are intended to support families and individuals impacted by the fires, though the event, as a whole, is open to everyone. Organizers say the goal is to make it as easy as possible for those affected to get essential items and services in one place, in one visit — while keeping the event welcoming to the whole community.

As a collaborative effort, Coordinated Care of Washington, Second Harvest, Northeast Community Center, STCU, Eastern Washington University, and Tools 2 Schools (coordinated by Communities in Schools NEW) are coming together to provide food, clothing, hygiene supplies, school supplies, backpacks, and other resources for the Wildfire Relief Distribution. The event is for the broader Spokane community, with wildfire-affected families and individuals especially encouraged to attend.

Open to everyone, walk-up, no appointment needed:
● Free dental and vision screenings, with prescription glasses shipped at no cost if needed (Coordinated Care's statewide healthcare tour)
Wildfire Relief Distribution for those affected by the fires:
● Free food and groceries (Second Harvest)
● Free clothing, hygiene and home essentials
● Free backpacks and school supplies
● Additional on-site community resources

To any and all affected by the fires, or if you know anyone affected please come, and please share.
