The Quiet Side of Rock.
At the rear of our Hollywood Hard Rock Hotel design, two-story casitas create a more intimate setting for extended stays—offering privacy, comfort, and a residential rhythm away from the energy of the main hotel.
Arranged along landscaped walkways, the casitas form a peaceful retreat while remaining connected to the full Hard Rock experience. It is a softer expression of the brand: contemporary, sophisticated, and designed for guests who want to stay a little longer.
Because even rock ’n’ roll needs a quiet side.

A rooftop where nightlife, technology, and the Hollywood skyline come together.

Designed in 2003 for the Hollywood Hard Rock Hotel, this elevated destination placed a dramatic glass-bottom swimming pool directly above the bar—turning the movement of water and swimmers into a living ceiling below.

Iridescent glass, illuminated surfaces, and sweeping curves created an atmosphere that shifted with the music, light, and energy of the night. Connected to the helipad by a bridge wrapping around the glass elevator tower, the rooftop was imagined as more than a bar—it was a stage in the sky.

A bold vision for immersive hospitality, designed years ahead of its time.

In 2003, our vision for the Hollywood Hard Rock Hotel pushed the boundaries of architecture, entertainment, and technology.

Transparent LED façades broadcast performances from the underground theater, transforming the hotel into a living stage on Hollywood Boulevard. A sand-covered deck connected directly to live broadcast studios, while a monumental fountain and street-level retail energized the pedestrian experience.

Above it all, a rooftop pool with a glass bottom formed the ceiling of the bar below. A bridge wrapped around the glass elevator tower, connecting the pool deck to the helipad. In the lobby, a hovering 3D hologram of Jimi Hendrix welcomed guests—a bold intersection of music, spectacle, and hospitality.

More than a hotel, it was conceived as an immersive entertainment destination—years ahead of its time.

Placemaking, by chance.

A red-and-white facade, an orange Metro bus, turquoise architectural details, and a blue California sky—each color arriving independently, yet briefly composing one perfect streetscape.

Sometimes a place becomes memorable through design. Sometimes the city completes the palette on its own.

I’m thrilled to share that my poster ALTO was selected as one of top 10 works featured in Frame the Future! at the Los Angeles Central Library!

Presented by FORT: LA, the exhibition invited creative thinkers to imagine bold possibilities for housing in Los Angeles through a poster, slogan, and manifesto—turning complex ideas about affordability, density, community, and urban life into compelling visions for the city’s future.

ALTO explores how we might reimagine housing and build a more inclusive future for Los Angeles.
