🏡 The Details Matter.

Everyone notices the beautiful kitchen. Fewer people see the hundreds of smaller repairs, upgrades, and improvements that make a home function better, feel better, and last longer.

This historic Savannah home received far more than a cosmetic update.

Behind the scenes, we repaired walls throughout the home, skim coated, caulked, wood filled, primed, and painted nearly every room—including the living room, dining room, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, foyer, hallways, laundry room, stairway, closets, ceilings, trim, and doors.

We also:

✔️ Modernized electrical throughout the home
✔️ Rewired junction boxes and the service panel
✔️ Removed unsafe and abandoned wiring
✔️ Installed new outlets, switches, lighting, and dedicated circuits
✔️ Vented the range hood to the exterior
✔️ Repaired plumbing issues throughout the house
✔️ Repaired and adjusted doors so they close properly
✔️ Installed new vanity, toilet, fixtures, and hardware
✔️ Repaired and restored trim work throughout the home
✔️ Patched drywall, paneling, skylights, and previous modifications
✔️ Repaired HVAC vent boots and replaced vent covers
✔️ Installed insulation where needed
✔️ Repaired leaks and drainage issues
✔️ Restored windows, handrails, and exterior details

One of the biggest challenges with historic homes is undoing decades of previous repairs, shortcuts, and modifications. Behind every finished room in this house were countless hidden issues that had to be addressed first.

Our goal wasn't just to make this home look beautiful—it was to make it safer, more functional, and ready for many more years of memories.

✅ Sometimes.

Older homes naturally settle over time. As wood expands, contracts, and shifts, occasional squeaks can happen.

⚠️ Sometimes not.

If squeaking is excessive, getting worse, or accompanied by soft spots, movement, or sagging floors, it could indicate loose subflooring, moisture issues, or structural concerns.

A squeak isn't always a problem.
A soft floor usually is.

✨ Historic Charm. Modern Function. ✨

One of our favorite parts of this Savannah renovation was bringing the kitchen into the present while preserving the character that makes historic homes so special.

Historic homes aren't built like new construction. Floors aren't perfectly level. Walls aren't perfectly straight. In this home, the foundation had been repaired years ago, and part of our job was making everything come together seamlessly despite the natural quirks that come with a home that's stood the test of time.

For this kitchen renovation, we:

✔️ Installed custom-designed solid wood shaker cabinets
✔️ Installed Carrara Delphi quartz countertops
✔️ Installed a new tile backsplash with an updated layout
✔️ Grouted and sealed all tile
✔️ Installed a new sink faucet and dishwasher
✔️ Patched LVP, hardwood flooring, and trim throughout the space
✔️ Reinforced the kitchen entrance wall and doorway
✔️ Added insulation and sealed gaps for improved efficiency
✔️ Repaired and blended existing hardwood flooring with stain touch-ups

We also removed several unnecessary interior and exterior door openings. The goal was to improve the flow of the home while making it look as though those doors never existed in the first place.

The finished kitchen is exactly what this home deserved, a beautiful blend of timeless character and modern functionality.

That's the difference between remodeling a house and thoughtfully restoring a home.

Things contractors notice in your house immediately 👀

We can usually tell within the first few minutes if a home has hidden issues brewing. Some are cosmetic… some are expensive… and some are straight up safety concerns. 😅

A few big ones:
• uneven or sagging floors
• moisture damage hiding in trim or ceilings
• poor bathroom ventilation
• builder-grade shortcuts that won’t age well
• deck framing that absolutely should not have passed inspection

The wild part? Most homeowners get used to these things slowly over time and stop noticing them.

A sticking door becomes “normal.”
A soft spot in the floor becomes “just part of the house.”
That bathroom mildew keeps getting painted over instead of fixed at the source. 👀
