⚠️While I initially thought this mantis was a welcome site in my pollinator garden this morning, I quickly learned that it is a Chinese Mantis. It was accidentally introduced to the Philadelphia area in the late 1800s and is considered an invasive mantis species that hunts and decimates vital native pollinators like bees and monarchs. The large females are famously known to even capture and eat hummingbirds! ⚠️

⏰✂️🍃Time to trim up my indoor Miniature English Ivy fairy topiary. 💡Yes, you can trim Miniature English Ivy without killing or stunting it. Trim the ends if you want to keep the vines short. However, long vines are great for topiaries, which is why I only need to trim mine everyone 1 to 2 years.

📸🧚‍♂️🪴Share photos of your fairy gardens or fairy topiaries. We’d love to see them! 💕

Save the date: 6th Annual Electric City Flower Show - June 19, 2027.
