After a few weeks in Scranton, Big Boy is officially on the move! 🚂 Our team had the perfect view as the legendary locomotive rolled out right behind our office on its way to its next stop. Safe travels, Big Boy!

A view we're especially proud of!

There's something special about seeing Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 in front of a sprawling building our team had the privilege of designing!

Many years ago, hc architects designed the Roundhouse and Museum Complex at Steamtown National Historic Site, a facility created to celebrate and preserve America's railroad heritage; a national treasure, right here in Scranton.

During Big Boy's visit, more than 50,000 visitors came to experience this incredible locomotive at the historic setting. We're proud that this project continues to serve as a destination where great architecture, engineering, and history come together and is celebrated by so many.

U of S Weiss Hall Strikes Gold!

hc architects is proud to celebrate the Robert S. and Marilyn A. Weiss Hall at the University of Scranton officially achieving LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. This state of the art facility reflects a shared commitment to sustainable design through energy efficiency, reduced water use, innovative mass timber construction, and environmentally conscious building practices.

A huge thank you to the entire project team and the University of Scranton for their collaboration in bringing this impactful project to life!

Last week, Laura Gillette-Mills, AIA, Principal, and Angela Kiesinger, NCIDQ, Lead Interior Designer, attended Empower: The Leadership Experience at Kalahari Resorts, hosted by the Scranton Chamber of Commerce.

Laura moderated a panel focused on getting involved and leading through community engagement—an inspiring conversation that reflects our commitment to making a difference in the communities we serve.
