August is one of my favorite months to sit in the garden in the evening, be still, and pay attention to the wildlife all around. Big. Small. Every little creature is a wonder. I feel so much joy proving a mini-habitat for them to enjoy.

🐝 this buy little bee wasn’t after my flowers or pollen. It was munching away at our wisteria leaves and flying away with the bee-sized cutting in tow.

You know what? I’m not even mad about it. I’m so fascinated.

Turns out, this solitary bee is probably building a nest for her eggs in a wood cavity somewhere.

I watched this one fly back and forth every 5 minutes or so for an hour, carefully cutting a new scrap of leaf and flitting away, holding it tight to her body.

What an amazing creature. What an incredible world we live in.
