Seattle’s experience during the 2026 FIFA World Cup highlighted the impact of walkability, transit connectivity, and downtown integration on the fan experience. What does the future of workforce support look like?

New research from Gensler’s 2026 Health & Wellness Fellowship suggests that worker well-being should be viewed as critical infrastructure, not simply an employee benefit. As careers lengthen, technology transforms work, and caregiving demands increase, the environments we design must better support how people live, learn, care, and work.
