Sarracenia flava var ornata “Bulloch Co, GA” x purpurea ssp venosa “Tattnall Co, GA” Is a new release for 2026 and is a staff favorite! The purpurea from Tatnall county are some of the most vibrantly colored, yellow and red purps in our collection! And combining that with the black veined. Sarracenia flava from Bulloch County has created one of the most richly colored and veined crosses! Each one of these plants is like a piece of stained glass! We have a very limited quantity of these. www.CaliforniaCarnivores.com

Sarracenia rubra ssp. gulfensis originates from the Florida panhandle. The pitchers are upright and narrow and the large, pointed lid undulates slightly. The coloration varies from an olive green with red veins to plants that are entirely red. The small red flowers are weakly scented of raspberries.www.CaliforniaCarnivores.com

We like to spray down the Nepenthes and Heliamphora in the greenhouse every day, they love the extra water and the coolness it brings! www.CaliforniaCarnivores.com

One of the most magical parts of tuberous sundews is that they bloom out of the tiniest plants sometimes, almost looking like the soil itself is blooming. www.CaliforniaCarnivores.com

As we get closer to Halloween, the temperate plants start to die back, but not all of them! Let’s see what’s growing, what’s ending its growth cycle, and what binata is still looking surprisingly good! www.CaliforniaCarnivores.com

As the other Sarracenia start to die back, leucophylla hybrids look beautiful! There’s something extra beautiful about these creamy pink and white pitchers amid the rest of the Sarracenia. www.CaliforniaCarnivores.com

A few months ago, our super-rare Bleeding Bell Flower bloomed. Tom shared that amazing flower with you, and you loved it! We were able to make seeds, and they’re starting to germinate, which is really exciting! We don’t know how long it will take to grow these out, but in a few years we may have some available for sale! www.CaliforniaCarnivores.com

Pinguicula x “Sleepy Hedgehog” is one of our super popular CalCarn hybrids that Damon made a few years ago. Everyone loves it for its charming, long, pointed, starfish-like leaves and unique growth pattern. But it also has a really lovely flower! It’s not a hybrid that flowers often (both parents usually flower only twice a year), so we were really excited to see this one bloom today. www.CaliforniaCarnivores.com

We’ve been collecting all the Sarracenia seed pods from this year’s hybrids, and here’s one that could be truly unique! Damon has crossed this fantastic leucophylla with the famous lidless ‘Bris’ to start breeding more lidless plants. It’ll be a few years before we see the real possibilities of this cross, but we’re excited! www.CaliforniaCarnivores.com
