Check out the recently completed Carpentry Program building at Little Priest Tribal College.

The classroom features a wall that shows raw sheetrock, then taped/mudded sheetrock and then fully finished as one example of how the building's design serves to teach about construction. Also, see how polycarbonate chambered plastic is used instead of sheetrock in places to allow students to see through walls in the shop area.

The exterior of the building is largely clad in weathering steel which will change over the years to a dark almost black color from the brown/rust color now.

The Little Priest Tribal College science building was honored with an AIA Iowa Impact Award!

The award recognizes projects "specifically designed to directly benefit social, humanitarian, community or environmental causes."

Congrats to LPTC and all those involved with the project!
