Not my best vignetting but the haul’s not bad, right? What’s catching your eye?

I sourced all this over the weekend – from Facebook, the thrift store and some antique malls. I’m always amazed what I find without going that far from home.

In related life news, we’re currently looking for a bigger house to accommodate my… uh … business. It’s definitely not because I have a shopping problem and not enough places to put everything.

But when you see something fantastic for a great price and know you can resell it… eventually… don’t you have to buy it?

Do you ever wish you’d been born in another era?

I wanted to see what I would’ve looked like as a thrifter, antiquer and collector in every decade from the 1900s until now, so my sister used AI to generate these images. The last (real) photo was taken in 2021.

Which one’s your favorite?

I think mine is the ‘70s, followed by the ‘80s, when I started hitting the hot pockets and toaster strudels pretty hard, apparently. I also really like the ‘90s one, complete with a windbreaker jacket and the iconic neon date stamp.

Despite the evolution of style, one thing remains the same. I’m always finding and rescuing the good stuff.

You are bidding on this unmarked vintage wall-mounting salt box featuring a hinged wooden lid and hand-painted bluebird and stripe accents. This rare piece is in excellent condition overall. There is a hairline crack at the top (Photo 5) and a small chip on the rim (Photo 14). There is heavy crazing throughout, minor paint loss and some marks on the underside of the lid.
