We have heard, and also believed, that photographers stalk
The pecan groves tither and yon again.
/Shakespeare off
(Yes, we admit that we had first learned of the real quote from an excellent British detective show, "Shakespeare & Hathaway". Don't judge us!) π
There are four pictures in this series, called "Golden Groves" due to that color in the trees and in the frames themselves. When we were asked for pictures of pecan groves, the trees were spindly and bare; perfect for a gothic or dark romantic feel, but that was not what the requester wanted! When the time was fulfilled, we went out and discovered both a wild grove near Colquitt (had someone planted it and then abandoned it?) and a pecan farm just outside of Boston, GA. Many pictures were taken, but only the best of the best didst we keep.
Each of these are 5"x7" in golden metal frames, with glass, signed and numbered, with a certificate of authenticity on the back.
New Row Mk II -- $40 -- The sun beneath a cloud provides a stark contrast with the trees; this speaks of triumph and the price of it.
Like a Garland -- $40 -- This has a feeling of stilled time, with the vine like a garland around the tree; it whispers of timeless beauty beyond physicality, found even in small moments.
Hosanna -- $40 -- The trees with their branches like trumpets welcome someone greater than themselves.
V -- $40 -- A wild pecan tree yet radiates order, spreading its gnarld arms heavenward, like a signpost.
Did you see the postcards? We also have postcards of each print for $2.50, and a collection of all four for $9.
Until next time!
