Our Back-To-School giveaway winners were treated to their prize today!! The person that won, donated their prize to another superb teacher!! On the day Dolly died, 💔
little girls screamed and grown women cried because the world was,
all at once,
less sparkly.

And maybe the sparkle
was never really
about the way she dressed—
fabulously, if you’re asking.

Maybe it was watching a woman
be ambitious without becoming hard,
soft without becoming small,
glamorous and still taken seriously.

Maybe it was the way
she gave people
who had very little in common
something to love together.

Or maybe it was simply this:
she spent a lifetime
being unapologetically herself

and somehow made the rest of us
a little less afraid
to do the same.

My day job: Sexual Violence Prevention Educator for middle and high schoolers. 👩‍🏫
It can be heavy stuff… this week I have the privilege of attending the National Sexual Assault conference in DC. So when wrapping a bouquet this week it was ironic to see this article. This is essential work; headlines are made everyday locally and nationally about Sexual Assault and Abuse. Its ripple is far reaching; unsurprisingly to those in the field it even influences how entire industries operate, namely in male dominated fields such as agriculture and farming.
